She works 24/7 to ensure the safety of those abused by family members who are officers of the law or violent within their own homes and works with them so they can get away safely. She is the author of Defending Our Lives, Moving Out Moving On and a new book directed at those who are abused by the badge. She also writes a blog at www.movingoutmovingon.bloghi.com highlighting abuse cases and often providing info in an effort to place awareness on laws that are not being applied in these cases.

Susan also works out of an office at 59th & State where she has secured over 500 apartments working with Chicago's landlords to allow her to place individuals and families who have been evicted a way to begin again so they do not wind up on the street and homeless. And she works with many battered woman who find themselves homeless with their kids because of the abuse and looks for housing and places them in job training programs so they can be self sufficient. And she has authored a comprehensive training manual called "Project Rent: Yes I can- teaching the newly homless how to be succesful tenants in the City of Chicago.

She never complains about things they are broken she see's a solution to just about everything, She also braves the streets often risking her own safety.

Susan never asks or complains she does does what is required within her heart to help others-She is a brave, strong example and leader and I am proud to know this remarkable woman.
